La Reina Isabel en persona
La Reina Isabel de Castilla realiza una retrospectiva de lo que ha sido su vida. De los logros políticos y sociales que consiguió, así como su lucha contra la soledad que hubo de soportar. Isabel I conocía las obligaciones que tenía y fue siempre severa y responsable con ellas, apoyó las iniciativas de Cristobal Colón, firmó importantes tratados políticos y se casó con Fernando el Católico, con el que tuvo una vida familiar no libre de desgracias, pues tuvo que superar, a duras penas, la muerte de dos hijos y la locura de Juana.
Isabel Ordaz es la única intérprete de esta insólita película y sobre ella cae todo el peso de la trama. El guión examina cuidadosamente cada parte de lo que fue la vida de la reina y los sentimientos de ésta, una mujer avanzada para su tiempo. Emotiva y turbadora, dirige el film Rafael Gordon.
La Reina Isabel en Persona debería ser un documento irrenunciable en la escuela, para ayudar a los jóvenes a comprender la grandeza de una Reina que –junto a su esposo– abrió las puertas a la Edad Moderna y supo legar a su nieto, el Emperador Carlos, un gran patrimonio y una nación de la que sentirse orgulloso.
Conocida es la anécdota de la respuesta de Carlos I a un embajador francés, sorprendido de que el Rey no utilizara el francés como lengua diplomática: “No importa que no me entendáis. Que yo estoy hablando en mi lengua española, que es tan bella y noble que debería ser conocida por toda la cristiandad”.

Isabel de Castilla is an iconic figure, controversial, irreconcilable passions aroused that magnify or, conversely, the disqualifying. A woman in a man’s world, the wild-eyed, wild-haired Isabel (Ordaz) is at the end of her span. Moving around shadowy, stony 15th-century interiors, she verbally revisits the main episodes of her life, including her country’s arrival in the New World, her expulsion from the Jews from Spain and her intense, lengthy love affair with Fernando of Aragon. Ordaz, little-known even at home – except for her Goya-winning role in Javier Maqua’s gritty 1997 drama, “Chevrolet” – attacks the role With Relish, creating an Isabel who’s intelligent, passionate and arrogant, but Also aware of her flaws. Well-researched script gives the sneaker-wearing queen an awareness of more recent events, such as Hiroshima and 20th-century right-wing political activism, allowing her to come across as the modern-minded pioneer she was.

Borderlust is a reflection on the dynamic experience of how we construct our identity as an emancipatory and paradoxical process.
Paz Viola & Grant’s collection of works present a series of silhouettes of the human figure whose limits are traced and shows the interconnection of the subject with the whole.
Bonderlust aspires to reaffirm the magnitude of possibilities of the expansion of the human being.

About this Event 
FERNANDO PIREZ
Born in the city of Montevideo, Oriental Republic of Uruguay, he emerges in the talent round of the renowned FUN FUN Bar in the old city where the contemporary tango referents frequented, has a powerful and sentimental voice that cradles tango as few is the winner of several competitions of singers in the Rio de la Plata.
He integrates the cast of voices of La Misa Tanguera and is La Voz del Tango in the Show PASION LATINA for the World Show.
He performed at the Lincoln Center in New York, the Opera Theater in Paris and the Czech Museum in Houston among other settings. I premiere the Tanguera Mass at the Cathedral of San Fernando de Maldonado, and at the Florencio Sanchez de Paysandu Theater (Uru) and I sing twice at the St. Patrick’s Cathedral in NY and at the Newark Nj cathedral this last year. He also performed at the Insitute of Hispanic Culture this past June with the “Tributo a Gardel Show”.

Nacido en la ciudad de Montevideo, Republica Oriental del Uruguay, surge al canto en la ronda de talentos del reconocido Bar FUN FUN de la Ciudad vieja donde frecuentaban los referentes tangueros contemporaneos, posee una voz potente y sentimental que acuna el tango como pocas es ganador de varios concursos de cantantes en el Rio de la Plata .
Integra el elenco de voces de La Misa Tanguera y es La Voz del tango en el Show PASION LATINA por el mundo.
Se presento en el Lincoln Center de New York , El teatro Opera de Paris y el Museo Checo de Houston entre otros escenarios.
Estreno la Misa Tanguera en La Catedral de San Fernando de Maldonado , y en el Teatro Florencio Sanchez de Paysandu ( Uru) y canto 2 veces en La Catedral de Saint Patrick de NY y en la catedral de Newark Nj este ultimo 2019 . Tambien se presento en el Insitituo de Cultura Hispana de Houston el pasado Junio con el Tributo a Gardel.
Los invitamos a ser parte de nuestro segundo capítulo de Spotlight Spain. En esta ocasión compartiremos con ustedes sobre dos expresiones emblemáticas españolas; el arte Flamenco y el arte ecuestre.
Para ello tendremos como invitados a Pilar Andújar reconocida artista Flamenco, Bailaora, cantaora y performer, representante del arte Flamenco contemporáneo.
También nos acompañará Antonio Renilla con una hermosa exhibición del caballo de pura raza español.

We invite you to be part of our second chapter of Spotlight Spain. On this occasion we will share two Spanish emblematic art forms; Flamenco art and equestrian riding.
We will have Pilar Andújar as one of our guests, a renowned Flamenco artist, dancer, singer and performer. She is also an important representative of contemporary Flamenco art.
Antonio Renilla will also accompany us with a beautiful exhibition of a purebred Spanish horse.
