Education Committee
Welcome to our Education Committee
The primary purpose of the Education Committee is to facilitate, sponsor and promote educational figures in our community. We provide current information on educational opportunities available prior to the upcoming scholastic year. It is the Education Committee’s responsibility to establish purposes, programs, and procedures that will best produce the educational achievement needed by our students. The Committee is also responsible for management of the resources available.
Andrew Slentz
Andrew Slentz has 30 years of international experience as an HR executive, generalist, compensation and rewards specialist, organization development leader and talent manager. Prior to joining Hess in April 2016, Slentz was with Peabody Energy, a global mining company, where he most recently held the position of Executive Vice President, Administration and Human Resources. Slentz holds a bachelor’s degree in Government/Political Science from Hamilton College and a master’s degree in Industrial & Labor Relations from Cornell University.
Harold Olaya
Harold Olaya is a Product Analysis and Design Principal, for S&P Global, a leading provider of transparent and independent ratings, benchmarks, analytics, and data to the capital and commodity markets worldwide. Olaya is responsible for designing and delivering software solutions for S&P’s credit portfolio management solution Wall Street Office (WSO). WSO is used by 200 companies to administer over $3.5 trillion of capital. Olaya has 10 years of experience in product management and banking operations in North America and Latin America. Prior to joining S&P Global in June 2014, Olaya was with Banco Davivienda, a Latin American bank, where he valuated the fixed income portfolios and administered the order management system used by the trading desks of the bank in the United States and Panama. Olaya is Board member of the Institute of Hispanic Culture of Houston assisting with the Education Committee. Olaya is originally from Colombia and a first year MBA student at Rice University. He holds a master’s degree in Finance from the University of North Texas and a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes in Colombia.
