Join a Spanish class at the Institute of Hispanic Culture of Houston
Our Spanish Beginning Conversation Class provides students with basic language patterns and practical vocabulary, as well as the essential conversational skills used in everyday life. Topics include family, numbers, weather, getting around, and traveling.The program highlights interesting aspects of the Spanish culture.
It is highly recommended for students without previous experience in the Spanish language. It is particularly for those who wish to acquire limited conversational skills for travel or the workplace, or who wish to start their study of Spanish.
This course is not open to students whose first language is Spanish.
Instructor: Maria M. Lopez, Professor at HCC and Rice University
A minimum of eight students is required to open a class.
WHEN: Every Saturday @9 am
FEE: for 8 classes, session 2 hours weekly $280.-

La voz y las melodías de Piaf son reconocibles al instante. Esto hace que interpretarla sea un tremendo desafío para cualquier actriz. Mariaca Semprún, conocida en todo el mundo de habla hispana, está a la altura del desafío. Semprún busca en su mundo interior y logra rendir un magnífico homenaje a la voz, el arte y el legado de Piaf. Leonardo Padrón, uno de los grandes intelectuales de América Latina, ha entretejido la música de Piaf en una historia cautivadora.

Mauricio Paz Viola & Justin Earl Grant celebrate their second exhibition together. After their shared experiences in Santiago de Chile 2015, they are reunited once again in the city of Houston.
Borderlust is a reflection on the dynamic experience of how we construct our identity as an emancipatory and paradoxical process.
Paz Viola & Grant’s collection of works present a series of silhouettes of the human figure whose limits are traced and shows the interconnection of the subject with the whole.
Bonderlust aspires to reaffirm the magnitude of possibilities of the expansion of the human being.
