Houston, TX – September 25, 2023. The Institute of Hispanic Culture of Houston (IHCH) celebrated its outstanding “Viva! The Gala” on September 23rd at the elegant Ballroom at Bayou Place. The gala, which brought together an audience passionate about preserving and promoting Hispanic culture, resulted in a night filled with emotions, recognitions, and memorable moments.
The emcee for the evening was the distinguished Univision journalist, Grace Olivares, who captivated the audience with her charisma throughout the night. One of the most exciting moments was the live presentation of five scholarships to outstanding students, a gesture that reflects IHCH’s commitment to education and the future of the Hispanic community in Houston.
On this occasion, the annual gala was chaired by Leslie Warren, who was joined by co-chairs Mónica Amariz and Carmen Muñoz. Each of them shared words of gratitude and motivation, emphasizing the importance of Hispanic culture in today’s society. IHCH President Jhakees Napolitano also spoke to highlight the positive impact the organization has had on the community.
The night was filled with entertainment, and the group Kache kept attendees moving with their vibrant music. Marco Rivas was also entertaining the guest with his saxophone. Meanwhile, Valeria Bautista, one of the scholarship recipients, thrilled the audience with her exceptional opera performance, showcasing the talent that IHCH supports and fosters.

Houston, TX – 25 de septiembre de 2023. El Instituto de Cultura Hispana de Houston (IHCH) celebró su destacada Viva! The Gala el 23 de septiembre en el elegante Ballroom del Bayou Place. La gala, que reunió a una audiencia apasionada por preservar y promover la cultura hispana , resultó en una noche repleta de emociones, reconocimientos y momentos memorables.
La maestra de ceremonia de la velada fue la destacada periodista de Univisión Grace Olivares, quien cautivó al público con su carisma a lo largo de la noche. Uno de los momentos más emocionantes fue la entrega en vivo de cinco becas a estudiantes destacados, un gesto que refleja el compromiso del IHCH con la educación y el futuro de la comunidad hispana en Houston.
