Arrancamos entonces nuestra segunda reunión del círculo de lectura activa con el libro “La Tregua” de Mario Benedetti.

Para el 6 de septiembre debemos tener leído la primera parte y estaremos charlando y compartiendo apreciaciones sobre lo que hemos leído.

Recuerda llevar tu vaso, tu bebida preferida y algo de comer para compartir con el grupo.

Círculo de lectura activa.

La lectura nos permite ver el mundo de una manera distinta, encontrar ese pedazo en el universo que nos hace falta. Los libros nos muestran que se puede encontrar el amor en un sonido o en una flor.

El círculo está centrado en la lectura y análisis de textos de ficción en español. El ejercicio del círculo literario pretende brindar nociones prácticas que permitan el acercamiento crítico a géneros literarios en español.

El ejercicio de leer nos pertenece a todos, hayamos o no estudiado formalmente.

Continuamos en febrero con nuestra reunión del círculo de lectura activa con el libro “Aura” de Carlos Fuentes, el sábado 15 de febrero, estaremos charlando y compartiendo apreciaciones sobre este libro.

Recuerda llevar tu vaso, tu bebida preferida y algo de comer para compartir con el grupo.

#Winning and Success: Beyond School and Snapchat

Education Day- Onsite program.

Applying for college is a highly competitive and complicated process, from career focus discernment to selecting the educational institution, financial concerns, standardized test readiness and developing the communication strategies to best represent yourself in writing and in person.

This one-day workshop will focus on the academic discernment process, developing a strong resume and personal statement, interview skills, and the power of social media -both negative and positive impact.

After a morning session with experts in the field of education and communication, students will have the opportunity to apply the concepts in practical exercises demonstrating the different skill sets.

We look forward to working with you to make this journey a success!

THIS IS A FREE PROGRAM SPONSORED BY THE INSTITUTE OF HISPANIC CULTURE OF HOUSTON.

BREAKFAST SNACKS AND LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED.
PARKING IS AVAILABLE ONSITE AND ON THE STREET.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS:

All participants are required to bring a signed copy of the Authorization form you will receive after registration through Eventbrite. The Parental Authorization form is required for Minors under 18 years of age.

Los invitamos a ser parte de nuestro segundo capítulo de Spotlight Spain. En esta ocasión compartiremos con ustedes sobre dos expresiones emblemáticas españolas; el arte Flamenco y el arte ecuestre.

Para ello tendremos como invitados a Pilar Andújar reconocida artista Flamenco, Bailaora, cantaora y performer, representante del arte Flamenco contemporáneo.

También nos acompañará Antonio Renilla con una hermosa exhibición del caballo de pura raza español.

We invite you to be part of our second chapter of Spotlight Spain. On this occasion we will share two Spanish emblematic art forms; Flamenco art and equestrian riding.

We will have Pilar Andújar as one of our guests, a renowned Flamenco artist, dancer, singer and performer. She is also an important representative of contemporary Flamenco art.

Antonio Renilla will also accompany us with a beautiful exhibition of a purebred Spanish horse.
