On January 18th, the Institute of Hispanic Culture of Houston hosted a swearing-in ceremony for the new president, Jhakees Napolitano, and the 2023-2024 board of directors. The event was emceed by Alberto Tudela who was also sworn into the new board of directors. The new board includes Carmen Herrada, María Alejandra Azar, Alejandra Alcalá, Graig Friou, Monica Amariz, Andrew Slentz, Carmen Muñoz, Janell Zeug, Leslie Warren, Jim Soto, Veronica Foley, and Peter Staartijes.
The attendees included members, friends, supporters, and colleagues of the Institute of Hispanic Culture of Houston. The event was catered by Bielina’s Catering, Colombian House Houston, and Pastel Pizza. They provided a unique experience to the event goers. The delicious menu was complemented by the sweet flavors of Sweet & Salty and drinks were courtesy of Just Prime Drinks and Bodegas Carmine Granata. The atmosphere was lively, and the venue was decorated with flowers from Area Home.
The entertainment was provided by Molto Alegretto, who was in charge of the music. There was a special performance by the young dancers from the Intempo Dance Ensemble, who performed their internationally awarded dances in honor of Latin America and the Hispanic culture.
