HOUSTON, TX – March 22, 2026 – The Institute of Hispanic Culture of Houston (IHCH) hosted its annual Education Day on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Houston Public Library Downtown, welcoming students and families for a day of learning, connection, and celebration.

Held every year, this event is designed to inform students about the IHCH scholarship program, as well as provide essential resources to help them navigate the application process and prepare for higher education.

The free event brought together dozens of attendees who participated in scholarship workshops, heard inspiring success stories, and networked with community leaders. The Education Committee, headed by David Tolkov and Harold Olaya, led the initiative to empower Hispanic students in their pursuit of higher education.

Event Highlights:

  • Scholarship resources and application guidance
  • Information about the IHCH scholarship program
  • Inspiring guest speakers
  • Networking with community leaders and professionals

“Education Day is one of our most important events because it directly connects students with the tools and encouragement they need to succeed,” said a representative from IHCH. “Every year, we host this event to make sure students know about our scholarship opportunities and how to apply. We are proud of the turnout and the energy our community brought to the library.”

The event was free to attend, with registration required in advance. IHCH plans to continue offering similar resources throughout the year, including scholarship opportunities for the 2026–2027 academic year
